I am setting up a used PRT Alpha. I read in the manual about aligning the Z axis perpendicular to the table. The manual says to loosen the 2 bolts on either side of the Z carriage going through the aluminum extrusiion to adjust alignment. This makes perfect sense in aligning the Z carriage perpendicular in the direction of X travel. You just rotate the carriage about the bottom bolts, no problem. I don't see how in the world that loosening these 2 bolts will do anything to align the Z carriage in the direction of Y travel. It seems to me that as soon as you tighten the bolts, the Z will go right back to the same spot in Y direction. For aligning the Z in the Y direction, it looks like you would need to move the V-rollers to get alignment. I saw where the V-rollers have a cam shaped nut. Can you use these nuts to adjust the V-rollers to push the Z carriage back and forth?

Brad:
That is one reason for the cam. The other is to make sure you are gripping the plate tightly between them.
