The bot finally lives. I figured out why the C3 command was going to the wrong end, and now it zero's at the correct end. Bit it is making a lot of racket when it moves. I took a very boring 4 minute video of it doing an air cut which can be viewed in about 43 minutes at http://youtu.be/rHxNqan45t0 I cannot seem to isolate which side is making the noise. If I go to the left side it sounds like it is coming from the right side and vice a verse.

I know there are a lot of pre made routines out there for the shop bot. is there one to drill the holes for the main table, that will countersink the holes and stuff for you?

I just wanted to thank all the folks, Gary, Brady, just to name a few, that have put up with my constant posting and problems. It may not be there yet, but it is sure a lot closer now than it would have been without this board.

If on e of the motors is making lots of noise check to see if any of the wires broke in the waco connector.

Drop both motors and run them see if they make the noise.

check the tension on your turnscrew connectors maybe they are too tight.
Make a short run, then back off one a littler bit until it stops making noise.

OK, quiet as a church mouse now. I checked the x motors and found that only about half of the pinion was engaged with the rack. I took them off and adjusted them a bit, so they were completely engaged. Then I realized that shop bot was not giving me stuff out of the goodness of their hearts, so I used that tube of grease to grease the rails. Amazing how quiet it its now.

Time to lay the table.....Tomorrow I think.

Did you grease the rack or the rails. The rack is what should be greased

I greased the pinions and the rack, sorry for my terminology(sp). I can now say though, I have sweat, tears and BLOOD, in the assembly of this machine. Dang splinter of metal on the YZ car got my thumb, not too deep but it did make a mess.

If you don't bleed a little setting it up you did something wrong. Talk about sweat when I set mine up it was 98 out side and about 100 in the shop.
