We purchased a ShopBot PRS Standard with Indexer a few years ago and now we are getting ready to set it up. Unfortunately, we can't get the ShopBot Program to see the indexer.

I followed the instructions in the book and made sure all the channels were down except the 5 channels, made sure the channel settings matched the VU = 16, VS = 180/240.

Not sure what I am missing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Did you do a VD (display values) and go down to "Units type B Axis" and make sure it reads
2- Rotary (deg)

When you say "we can't get the ShopBot Program to see the indexer"
what does that mean? What are you trying to do that you can't make it do, what error messages if any do you get?
type in the console
MB 360 (if you are using B for your axis if not type in
MA360 and see if it makes one revolution
then try MB3600 for 10 revolution, ect keep adding zeros if you want

Kevin I think Jack is right VD , number of axes in my case its 5 as I have two cutting heads.
I was thinking at first it was VI but that's where you decide what axes goes where.

Guys. Thanks for your help. I was able to change the VD display values to show the 5 axis. I then tried to turn the indexer by typing the MB360 and MA360, but it did not move. Attached are some screen shoots that I am hoping help clarify things.

Kevin the last screen shot shows that both A and B axes moved. Did they show movement on the screen but no actual movement by the indexer. Also is your indexer on A or B and what is on the other one? The other two screens seem to me to be set up right.

The A and B axes moved on the screen, but there was no actual movement by the indexer.
I believe the indexer is hooked up to the B axes. I plugged the cable from the indexer into the open slot on the control box (below the Z plug) closed the 4 channel and opened the 5 channel per the directions.
I am not 100% sure that it is the B axes. Just going off of what the directions tell me.

I think it's safe to say the indexer is not getting the signal from the control box. I have an alpha machine so the control boxes are different so I can't help you there. I'm sure there are other people here who know about the PRS standard control box. If not contact Shopbot directly.

Thank you very much for all your help.
If I don't hear from anyone else, I will contact ShopBot.

Thanks again.
