I had a job earlier in the year to produce 6 x 2metre high ornate columns, I was in the process of building a stand alone indexer using Shopbot controls but with the volume of work I had and the looming completion date to coincide with the Olympics I had to make something quickly.

I had plan "B" to make one to fit on the end of my Shopbot PRSAlpha, the framework was made from 18mm Birch plywood and some parts from an old turning lathe, the only bit I need to buy was the drive stepper to the chuck adaptor.

The Birch plywood was held together with hex bolts and cross dowels and finally bolted to the end of my Shopbot.

Excellent, did you get the stepper motor from Shopbot?

Excellent:D I imagine you designed and cut all your parts on the bot also?

Very cool!

Good for you, Paul. Kudos for 'getting' the whole idea of making your own shop fixtures and accessories with the CNC, rather than buying them...
