I see these types of bits/sets are used on large industrial machines but I know nothing about running these on a Shopbot and don't see a lot of discussion about them so some questions come to mind.

Someone asked why I wouldn't just use a carving bit and what "seems" to be the obvious answer would be major cutting time difference.

-What are the largest bits you run?
-What type and diameter are they? Example stile & rail or raised panel.
-What spindle/router are you successfully running them on?
-Are bit descriptions, or lack of, in the setup files an issue?
-Do you consider using these types of bits on a Shopbot a no-no?

I have had occasion to use a 2" diameter Ball nose bit and the large Her-Saf V bits.

I've cut some of Grant Bailey's sculpted textures with a 2" dia. ballnose and a 2.2 HSD spindle. I must admit I was nervous about cutting with a bit that big before starting, but they cut beautifully and quickly.
