Some where I have run across a site for helicopterjohn.com. He has developed control ware for the SB, I think it's called Mach 3. The interesting thing is the ablity to zero Z to the material and then to a referance point away from the material.
Using ShopBot's control ware, is there a way to zero Z and then to another referance point while saving the differance.........?(custom C)
Broke a bit today and now having to start all over. This would have saved the day.

There are a number of posts where users show their use of either a prox switch adapted to the Z axis or an off table zeroing block, plate or bolt. A custom file could be written to store and save that offset.
