Workshop Better place for my 96/48 Alpha. France.

Hello Guys,

Need help please. I'm going to receive my Shopbot thursday in my small workshop in France and i would like your advices to find the right place for the beast. I have made a 3D sketchup 8 files at the right scale of my workshop you can download to have a look with the 96/48 alpha inside ... Please, tell me if i'm wrong or not ?? It is for pro use. No private cars should come into this space !.

I regret there is no infos about it on the main site ?

I'm sure i will be on the forum a lot in the next weeks building the machine ...asking questions ... I'm a bit nervous to start the build ... most of all nervous on the electronic/electric phasis ...:(:(

PS : Put dimensions with imperial system on the plan for you ... it is an "old hebrew laguage" for me ... who use to work with metric all the year ;)

Given the size of the space that looks like about the best placement.

You've got space to load sheets in the open end and the front of the machine is clear.

Mine is in a lot smaller space than that. I've got about 600mm all around. It's only the other open end where I have enough room to load 8x4 sheets.

As for where to put the bot, think about how you are going to:

1. get sheets into the shop and into storage or directly onto the bot (high priority)

2. flip a sheet if you have to do two sided cutting (medium priority)

3. get a sheet off the bot and onto a work surface if needed (high priority)

4. cut pieces that are longer than your bot (low priority)

These activities can be quite challenging if you are alone. Think ahead.

Also think about where your operator console will be. It is very handy to have it so that x on the screen matches x on the table.

Don't forget dust collection and associated grounding (extremely high priority).

More open floor space in front for floor assembly, product storage, tool racks etc. and you can put your SB control computer next to the bot on the curtain wall.
