Before I buy a new indexer, was wondering if anyone got a new one in box they never used or an used one in good shape laying around the shop that they want to give it away;) (never know if you don't ask) or maybe sale it?

I was looking for a prt or prs 6" index to go along with my prt cnc, got a new client that wants a lot of round project over the next couple of years.

Thanks

Bryan if you go back to the beginning pages of the indexer section you will see indexers that guys have cobbled together for $200 up to several hundred. I personally would recommend a purchase from shopbot but you can put a system together for much less by following some of the examples guys posted.:D

I was thinking of throwing one together, but it would be less of a pain to just start out with what the folks at shopbot designed to work, not to mention it would be easier for them to help with out when i hit the wall in the process of adding this whole new area of the cnc world.

Bryan,
Well this is what i did was just bought mine thru shopbot and i was ready to go...you'll pay more but in the end if you feel you need more help in the beginning it might be worth it to you....

Dad has a wood lathe that he has said I can have, I just wonder, since I am the farthest thing from an engineer, if that could be converted to an indexeer?

David,
Dozens of people have done exactly that !!! In fact there are probably more "home brewed" indexers than stock ones running today...
Try the search engine here and at Google for details. Plenty of pictures, and details have been posted...

I dont think that the mechanical part would be that bad , its the part that hooks it up to the control panel that scares me . other than that i would love to have one also.
