this is on a shopbot prt alpa on the z Hopefully the pinion is standard but I don't know for sure. I swear I spend more time helping these guys with their machine then they use it. Glad they pay me (G) I guess someone played with the computer while they hosted a party and they lost all the settings.

If it is a 25T pinion, then it *should* be 10/7.2 * 2482.8171

If 20T pinion then, 5/4 * the result above.

thanks it is a strange motor for the job but they got the machine used. Now they want to pay men to get a vacuum setup going.

That is the right value for an AS911 direct drive Alpha, not a 10:1.

The 10:1s were used on PRTAlphas if you had a 12" Z, and optional on the 6" Z, especially with a heavy 5hp Colombo. The X&Y were 1:1 unless they upgraded to 7.2s

interesting... my bot was direct drive before I added the reducers but the 12" Z's have always been 10:1 and that's what my value is...

Really? What's the multiplier set to on the drive & the VU (at the bottom) ?

They were doing some strange things back then with the VU & multipliers etc. My 7.2:1 Alpha had a UV something like 3918.xxx before we pulled it back to compromise between speed & resolution.

set to 1 for Z,A,&B

Strange X & Y numbers are due to 3:1 belt reducer and pulse set to 500...

Out of curiosity... I checked my Z drivers and they are set to 500. would I benefit by doubling my unit values and setting them to 1000?
