Does anyone use a bitmap to vector converter. I just tried http://vectormagic.com/home and it seemed to work OK. Still had a little cleaning up to do. I'm a Artcam user and haven't mastered everything yet (Getting there though) and I'm sure it can be done in Artcam, but I was thinking this could be a time saver. Just curious to hear what the consensus is among the good people here. No affiliation just looking to streamline production. Thanks in advance!

Kurt - I also have tried the demo version of Vector Magic....seems to work pretty good. I typically use, Adobe Illustrator and that works good too. The one other program - I stumbled on - is called RaveGrid.

I use VectorMagic a lot and it does a great job on line drawings and the like. Not the best for photos etc.

Another I use which I find works better for CNC work is Elgorithms Magic Tracer.

I mostly use aspire anymore, but used to use Acme Traceart quite a bit.

Ditto.

There is no 'easy button' 1-click solution to tracing. If you want professional results you gotta trace it out. This will result in the best-fitting, cleanest result with the least number of nodes and spans. The 1-click 'wizards' that do exist leave a lot to be desired in most practical applications.

Agree... Sometime you just have to draw the vectors yourself. I do vectorize quite often and find that I like Aspire better than Signlab, corel and inkscape.

Customers don't have good vector files for me, I usually get a business card to scan in and clean up in photoshop then vectorizing gets easier.
