Hello again.

I have been asked to make some decorative panels that will be used to hide an HVAC unit. Up until now, all of my panels have been for interior use so I'm not sure what material to use for an exterior application. Would you recommend expanded PVC, or another material? This will be shipping to Maine.

Many Thanks,
Donna

Pvc would be a good choice. Extira a possibility though heavy.
Trim boards from decking a possibility if you can work with 11.25" wide material.

HDPE panels would work to aka marineboard, starboard, playboard.
Even colorcore would make for an interesting panel

Thanks, everyone. I was able to find an Extira distributor here in town!

I cut Extira for bat house components. Make SURE your dust collection is up to par when you cut it. It is a messy nasty thing to let that dust fly around. Wear a face mask and keep your shop air scrubber running too. I would love to find a good alternative but so far 1" thick Exteria is it. I don't mind working with it after it's cut, I've even made some countertops out of it, but cutting it is no fun. I ran some through table saw once... never again.

Good luck, post photos!
