I was looking into texture file suppliers and stumbled across this site. Does anyone use it and know if it's downloads are safe?

After looking at it a bit more my first impression is that it may be something of a front for getting people to click on other sites, but I could be wrong.

since nothing in life is truly free most of the sites offering free models or art have to produce revenue and that generally comes from ads and you clicking on them. While I have not used this particular site, I have used others without issue and got interesting models to use in ASPIRE. I have had good success with STL files from http://grabcad.com/ and also from http://archive3d.net/ and http://hobbycncart.com/

Gerald,
I have gotten some models from there, no problems from virus's ect, however most of them are .max files and you have to go to the trouble using another program to convert them to a .stl that you can use.

Plus most of these files are single objects to be used for example in a 3d scene as opposed to our purposes. Take the fireplace file, it doesn't come as separate parts that you can toolpath.

archive3d.net does have some better single items you could toolpath like rosettes, ect but the files are GARBAGE. They make them very small and in doing so they are very jagged and blocky due to low polygon count and they look like ****. I don't think i have ever gotten any good ones from there.....:(
