Hey guys just bought a 2002 Pr4896 with some mileage on it and the machine will not cut accurately. It is all over the place. For example if I cut a piece 2" wide x 48" long in the Y direction part of the cut will be .125" off and part will be .0625" off. I am designing and making cut profiles in Aspire. I am plugging the cut profiles into ShopBot 3 I believe. Machine is constructed well and square. I have tried messing with the Unit Vales and still no change. Please help!!!! I am trying to use this machine to increase productivity of my business and it's just sitting there.

Something is clearly wrong, but it sounds like its more than you can manage.

You might consider getting Gary Campbell to come out and do a tune up on the machine. You would learn tons about it at the same time.

Get the machine in production and it should pay for his services..

Just a suggestion-

To pursue that, call the main SB number.

I would start by draw 4 crosses in a square at specific distances in Aspire and cut it on the line with a vcarve bit and run it on the on a piece of scape or just on the spoil board. measure each axis and see how far off you are. You can give me a call and I will try to get this resolved. Also It could be bit deflection you can check that by running the file in a climb cut.
