Well what a sad, sad day. Gary has definitely gone and will certainly be missed. Now a techie with Camaster. Hope he finds what he is looking for as he has a real brain and things just wont be the same round here.

With even the smallest Camaster being "turn key" I suppose he wont get pestered at least by the dreaded comms errors.

All the best Gary!

Camasters still have their problems so he will still have to deal with them.

Gene, et al....
As you can see from Bob's post, I have accepted a position at CAMaster. So, I am not missing, simply missing from this forum. I've made a lot of friends here and I hope they will be with me for life.

I did not make an announcement of my leaving out of respect for the good folks at ShopBot. They, like my friends here, will be missed.

Quite a few crossovers in this racket, I think it is for the best.
I myself am a CAM guy, but I respect SB, and don't discount the possibility of owning one in the future. 90% of whats talked about here has relevance for any CNC, same with CAM, thats why I browse here and sometimes comment - Different brands, but we are all in the same boat, and whats good for one is good for the other.
Something like that ,,,,

Morning All. I had heard of Gary's going to another cnc brand last week. I am sure others will agree that we all wish you the best Gary. I hope that you are still able to help and post on this forum in the future as your input and knowledge will be missed. :(
All the best and good luck with the new chapter in your life. :):):)

Basically all cnc machines work on the same X,Y, and Z platform. no matter the brand he knows a lot about cnc's and how they work. Hopefully he will be no stranger and still chime in when a fellow cnc owner has a problem and help with the cnc woodworking crafts.:) when you get into which is better its like the Ford vs Chevy . its a matter of preference and affordability .

There's always a possible silver lining. Maybe the freed up budget will be applied to hiring one or two whizz kid software geeks who'll work 25 hours a day just for the chance to play with real machines as part of their de-bugging and upgrading job :)

Then... right before they actually accomplished anything, they would get lured away by a startup in San Jose.
