Bring up the K screen. There are five new buttons along the bottom. If you right click on one it remembers the exact table position. To recall just left click. I use it to move the table forward (on a Buddy) to remove/attach job. Then hit another button to move spindle to x2, y2 to do a C2 - particularly usefull if you have a screw anywhere near x0, y0. Good time saver and something less to worry about. Great stuff!! You dont have to save and you can name the button anything you wish. Full marks to whoever thought this one up.

It's in 3.8.4 as well but I think a lot of people uninstalled it before realising it was there. :)

when you hit one of these "presets" does it raise your Z axis prior to moving?

Jack it doesnt move Z as its just a goto. However as there are 5 to mess with you can put Z moves in there. The problems for us oldies though Jack is remembering what you have put behind each button otherwise you can get unexpected suprises. I can see myself using this feature all the time though on repetitive stuff.

You can also make yourself a Custom file that can be called up with a C# command, just like C2, C3 etc. Then you can put in JZ,1 and then any series of commands that work to YOUR liking.

Jack - though about your question over breakfast. I reckon the main use for you would be not having to write down co-ordinates when you were working of centres as you do. Just C3, move to position, hit K, right click on radio button, the Z2. To re-establish your start do a C3 then left click your radio button.

Brady - yes I know you can do that but this new way is great for those with no programming bent ( read tooooooo lazy to read that in depth manual). See you guys are spoilt over there as you get to have camps and that is a great way to pick up good tricks. There are only three of us within 100 miles and we are all at about the same level as we all got our machines around the same time. The forum and people like yourself is what makes it all possible for us. I've never come across a group of very busy pros so willing to give up a bit of their time.
