Wow, beautifully done. That could almost bring a tear to the eye; in a very good way. Thanks Scott.

We also now know wht the dog should not have wagged its tail. :)

That was outstanding! Thanks for posting.

I was surprised to see that thing running balls out after watching it run so slow in the beginning!

Yeah, I saw the dog walk across and saw the tail (or lack thereof) and then saw the open pulleys/gears and thought yup, that's where it went I bet. Either that or some preventative maintenance.

There's another place in Oregon call the Hull-Oakes Lumber Company and I had the chance to tour that from log pond to finish timbers. Very cool. These places really get to rockin & rolling at full steam! Standing next to that band saw, it will get and keep your attention! Highly recommend site to see if you're in the area.

The first plant I worked in made cable spools and the whole damned place ran off one engine and leather belts. I still have the scars to show, although after 40 plus years they have gotten pretty faint. Great memories. Thanks for posting this.

What struck me as you watch this, not sure where it's located, but these people look like hard working self reliant people who don't have a union but have a good work ethic. These people could have been just like original workers from 100 years previous.
This was fun to see all the bells and whistles spinning and whirring and doing it "the old fashioned way".....

In our neck of the woods we have the last remaining steam powered sawmills. Quite the operation. BTW when they redid the USS Constitution all of the spars and masts were cut at Oakes. Enjoy. Russ
