I have been using a Festool plunge router on a manually operated CNC style table that I developed a few years back. Since receiving my shopbot with the PC router and using the same 2" bit my PC has done its bearings, after only 3 hours work. My festool has been spinning the same bit for 2 years and is still going fine. Has anybody adapted a plunge router to the Z axis? not so that it plunges but maybe take the plunge piece off, although it would be good to maybe attach the base so that you can register your bit change easier. Any thoughts?

You can wade through this thread (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/messages/2/4095.html) if you like.

Hi Gerald
Thankyou for your link, I knew that there would be something on this subject somewhere but I couldn't find it. Looking at your pictures was like looking into my minds eye but it was good to see it for real. I have disected my plunge router and have drawn up the details to create the holder. Thanks again, you are an inspiration for this site.
