Hi guys, I just got back from the 3d sign camp in Indiana. Sandy Baird talked a lot about using a material I've never heard of before. I believe it is called Exterra. I think I'm spelling it wrong but if anybody knows what this material is or where it can be located please let me know. I know this probably sounds like a stupid question but this whole 3d sign world is new to me so I'm trying to learn.

Thanks in advance.

http://www.exteriabp.com/ (http://www.exteriabp.com/) A nasty material to breathe, but an excellent exterior MDF type product. Similar but not as waterproof is Medex. http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16864&highlight=medex (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16864&highlight=medex)

Neither material is available in all parts of the country...

Extira: It is a material that in looks is like MDF but the bonding agent is different so it is highly water resistant. It is very heavy but does mach9ine well. Wear a mask!!
You would need to enquire of your local cabinet plywood supply and/or lumber companies or from Extira to locate local distributors. In comparison to sign foam it is very inexpensive. Enter Extira in the forum search and you will get lots of hits.
Steve: It is actually much more waterproof than Medex.

Dave: Thanks for the emphasis

ExteriaBP.com lists six distributors in IL, but all around St Louis
