The new manuel says the y rails should be 21 5/8" apart. My Y carriage only allows for 19 5/8" spacing is there any technical reason for the wider rails ie. less racking on the x axis or something? Are the exta 2 inches worth the bother of cutting new cariage parts?

Hi David,

The rails were moved a bit futher appart so that 2 Z axes could be fully accomodated inside the the carriage. The wheel spacing did not change, so there is no difference how the Y functions. (If the wheel spacing were wider, you would not get full travel in the X axis).
