The really interesting comment here is Shopbot plan to sell a pre loaded tablet to run it!

Kickstarter has to approve the Handibot project before pricing becomes official, but, Bryan says, the basics are ironed out. ShopBot plans to offer early adopters the first 50 Handibots for $2700 apiece, available after six weeks, followed by a bigger batch available six months down the road for $2400 each. The company has plans for premium products, too, such as offering a $5000 kit that includes the bot, the bits, and a tablet loaded with apps to run it (the first Handibots off the line won’t come with the computers needed to run them—buyers will use their own).
