I started back in 2006 asking a lot of questions when i got my bot. I was amazed at the willingness to help from the company and frankly strangers at that time. Having come from owning a Legacy Ornamental Mill where the company would do absolutely nothing to help you after they got your money, this was like culture shock.
So I felt a need to contribute because you feel a loyalty to the company, and there is a little bit of wanting to "show how smart we are" sometimes because it makes me look like an "ar-teest".
I hope i've helped alot of guys, i've helped convince a few i know of to purchase bots and made alot of friends here and met several at some of the shopbot camps and most importantly learned alot from many of you.
There are several guys i've learned things from off forum and made good friends which is one benefit of owning a bot.
And the best part is Nancy hasn't had to send me a "stern warning" to behave myself in years, so i must be doing something good!:o
Now if somehow i could convert all that good will into a new hat, i'd be a happy man...(see it doesn't take much to please me...:D)
So thanks Ted, Shopbot, and forum members for being friends, i'm enjoying my "hobby"....:D

Jack, You know we love you. Now get back to work. Just kidding. 6000 posts?!? Do you earn a chatterbox achievement for that.
I have only been around since 2007 but as a real nooby I always appreciate you and the others, whom I will not name as I am imperfect and would forget someone, that shared hard earned knowledge about the industry, the tool, and the materials. I am a better craftsman because of all of us. :)

Do you have a favorite post out of 6000 ???? or do we have to look back over them all ???
my favorite one on the Mustang site is this one... one can learn so much from others....

http://mustangforums.com/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif I'm done with this car!
My car was idling like **** the other day so I figured since I just got it, it may have been awhile since anyone changed the oil out. I decided to go ahead and change the oil. I used Mobile 1 synthentic oil like I was reccomended on here. Anyways, I drain out the oil and noticed it was extremely dark and even after 10 minutes of draining, it was still coming out. I decided to go ahead and flush it to make sure all the bad stuff got out.
I hooked up the hose, ran water through the engine, started it up and was waiting for the water to come out clean(The engine never went above idle so I was told this would be ok). Anyways, About 3 minutes into this, then engine starts shaking and shuts off. I figured it was all cleaned out so I plugged it up, added the oil and figured I was ready to go.
WRONG! The car won't freaking start now. This car has been nothing but trouble for me, I think I am done with it.

Curtis,
I think i like my adventures into using the Indexer. When i bought mine there was no info hardly available, I got them to open a "Indexer" section and i think that has caused several guys who bought indexers but had them sitting in a box to get a renewed interest and get them out and hooked up. I know i've helped several guys off forum get theirs going.
I started doing spirals and other turnings long before there was software built into your programs to do it nowadays. I'd like to see more indexer stuff. I'd like to be able to do more myself.
I'd like for you guys with indexers to show more stuff. Stephen Mosher is like the indexer guru and makes some really nice stuff but we don't see him enough on here...:(

6,000, seems like only yesteday ehhhh! Congrats. Its folks like you that helped make my ShopBot decision an easy one. Great company support, users that really like their machines, and access to folks that are willing to answer the same dumb questions month after month. Thanks for all of those posts. Russ
