I need help, lots of it according to my wife. In this case, I admit it.

My father in law owned a Shopbot of some kind, maybe 7-10 years old. He passed away in April. I am trying to sell it to help pay for funeral costs. I do not know much about them, and only a little about woodworking. I had intended to leave it in his pole barn, set up and ready to demonstrate. Unfortunately, my mother in law passed away in June and the family decided it best to remove many assets from the property. So, I have this Shopbot somewhat disassembled in storage. I have the computer it was controlled by and all the wiring and parts that I know of. I have a box full of related manuals. I could not fit the wood table into the trailer, so it remains on the property for now but could be moved.

That's as far as I got. I'm not sure the model, PRT96 maybe? I snapped a few pictures prior to dis-assembly (https://picasaweb.google.com/115263137706992126608/Shopbot?authuser=0&feat=directlink).

What now? Where do I begin in order to sell this? I am willing to learn what I need to, and set it up again. I would rather not as my wife and I both work full time while attempting to raise 3 children. Schedules are fairly full. To me it is a valuable asset that someone should be using.

Aaron,
That appears to be a PRT96, with 48x96 machinable area. Back in those days you could order the table separately from the rest of the 'Personal Robotic Tool'. The newer tools come with a table and are called 'Personal Robotic Systems'

Your best bet would be to clean up the parts you have and lay them out in a clean driveway etc and take some pictures. Take care to protect the big gantry car and the long X-rails (and the gear rack underneath them!). Then post in the For Sale section. This would be a great start for someone who wanted to get into the CNC router game.

Since it doesn't have a table, that makes it worth a bit less than a fully assembled tool that can be demonstrated and evaluated. I won't discuss pricing here, but can assist you via PM if you need help getting in the ballpark.
