Hello, I recently purchased a used 2010 PRS Alpha. First, thanks to Dave Rosenbleeth for taking time out of his busy schedule to offer his opinion on the purchase. I dis-assembled most of the components so that I could put it back together by the book. Everything was going well until I was mounting a fresh pinion on the Y motor (ASM98AA-T7.2) and noticed some "wobble in the shaft. This is not rotational slop which I assume is what you all call backlash, but think of the motion of a joystick. It will probably "wobble" at least 30 thousandths or so. I have been in contact with Nate @ SB and he said to possibly adjust the backlash, or I may have to replace the motor ($800+). Any idea what could have caused this? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark

Abuse, as in dropping it on the floor could have caused this.

A replacement is $399 from Oriental Motor.

I'm with Brady. "Sounds" like a bent shaft.
