Hi,
I guess I'm losing it but I've used both the forum search and Google search with <terms>;talkshopbot but can't find Brady's detailed discussion and pics of the BradyVac 1.

Specifically, I'm wanting to build one for my powerstick style BUDDY 48. Does anyone have a link?

This is the original article - http://www.shopbotblog.com/index.php/2006/11/a-removable-vacuum-plenum-that-maximizes-hold-down-potential/

Been meaning to do one for ages myself.

Hi Adrian,
Thanks much; I appreciate your looking. I'd found that one as well as a couple of discussions of the Brady Vac 2 but for some reason it sticks in my mind that there was a more detailed Brady Vac (1) discussion with pictures. I think it was on the forum.

Gerry,

BradyVac = Sheet of Ultralight MDF w/Grid machined into back side.

BradyVac2 = Same as BV1, but has thru channels that direct vacuum 'air' to the back side of the part. It is for specific production parts, unlike the universal type the BV1 is.

The original Lighthouse vacuum motor thread, called the 9-15, can be found here (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=545) and Gary Campbell's nice implementation of those motors can be found here (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11813).

If you wanted to see the vac system I designed for my BT48, you can see that here (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5365). Bear in mind that is an earlier BT with 1/2" solid AL support board. On your powerstick BT, you would use 1 or 2 pcs of 1x3" AL tubing, carefully placed to avoid the bottom support rollers. I attached a 2" threaded coupler to the end of the AL tube by first hacking the threaded part down & then using a 2" electrical conduit star nut to tighten it down. Then I used a portion of a P-trap to make a nice transition for the vac hose. This type of setup should work for your powerstick setup as well.

Thanks very much Brady! Just what I was looking for. I think I was too narrow in my search terms and limited them to the title maybe.
