I have a project that involves cutting .050 Aluminum (5052). I have an Onsrud bit 63-606. Can anyone give me the proper speeds and feeds to run this?

I use that bit and thick it works pretty well. I like to use 1.33 and .3 IPS. I also use only about .02 to .03 depth per pass. I forget what speed I use for the spindle, but I believe it is 10.5 to 11.5.

You need to hold your aluminum down WELL. and it needs to be FLAT. I would recommend DS Tape in addition to vacuum or screws or something...

I do not use a lubricant most of the time. I DO use dust collection even though it picks up very little aluminum. It DOES move air past the part and the bit- which is very helpful. LISTEN to the bit. It will tell you a lot if you have done any volume of cutting. Don't make it scream.
