We'll be returning to David McNutt's Turtle River Millwork for our second Mercer,WI Camp on Sat. Oct 12th from 8AM-4PM
David's location is:
4792N Parkway Dr.
Mercer, WI 54547
715-476-2260
www.mcnuttgroupinc.com (http://www.mcnuttgroupinc.com/)
We'll have a new Handibot at the Camp for people to check out, and David always has some great commercial projects going on to tell us about. It's such a beautiful area that last year a number of people said they planned to come a day earlier this year so they could wander around a bit.
And like last year we're interested in knowing how many people might be interested in a Friday evening bar-B-que at the shop. You can drop me a note to RSVP either/both the Camp and bar-B-que at:
campshopbot@gmail.com

I would like to say I hope everyone can make it and maybe we will get more to come this year. Here in the Northwoods of WI October can be a great time of year, the tress should be in great color and cool nights and warm days makes for a great time.Lets get some feed back on what you all want to see or not see at the camp. We have added some new equipment at the shop this year. Look forward in seeing everyone in October. Feel free to contact me via the forum, email david@mcnuttgroupinc.com or phone.

I could bring up some fixtures and a vacuum pump and get a little more in depth on vacuum hold down if you want. Seems like a popular subject on the forum.

Bob, Sounds like a good idea, I know I would like to learn more on this. Let me know about how much time you would need.

I have 2 distinct types of vacuum fixtures that I use David. I can bring everything with me and do set up during breaks or whatever. I will only need room on the bot and access to 110 volt.
Formal face time should be accomplished in 30-40 minutes depending on # of questions.

A few people have said that their mapping program couldn't locate David's shop, so here's a map, just in case....

Hello fellow shopbotters! Thanks for the invitation.

Put the Weidner's down for attendance at the shop Friday after 4:30pm (Michael, Kimberly, and Ania).

We'll also be attending Saturday's session.

Anyone have an opinion on Timberline Inn?

Bob-
I look forward to the vacuum presentation. I've been meaning to take this on for a while now. I've been asked to taper handmade ski cores from 10mm to 2mm. Mechanical fastener fixturing is cost prohibitive for production.

Would love to be there but I have a conflict. I know you will all have fun. . .
Cheers.

Thanks again to David McNutt for hosting a great ShopBot camp!

Also, a big thanks to Bill Palumbo and Randy Johnson from ShopBot for their tutelage. It was nice to see the HandiBot and the Desktop in action too.

Both, Nancy and I, are already looking forward to next year's camp.

Cheers!
