2014 JURY ANNOUNCEMENT The editors of NICHE magazine are currently selecting a distinguished group of well-known and respected jurors for this year's competition.
Confirmed 2014 jurors include: Michael Higdon, Museum Shop Manager and Buyer at the National Building Museum; Dana Singer, Executive Director of the Society of North American Goldsmiths; Erin Fergusson, Senior Manager of Merchandising at UncommonGoods; and Stan and Judy Gillis, owners of The Real Mother Goose in Portland, Ore. Stay tuned for our announcement on the final juror to join this year's judging!
Judging of entries is based on three main criteria:
* Technical excellence, both in surface design and form
* Distinct quality of unique, original and creative thought
* Market viability (professional entries only)
FINALISTS RECEIVE:
A listing in the winter issue of NICHE magazine (professionals only), a listing in the Winter Buyers Guide, a listing on NICHEAwards.com (http://NICHEAwards.com), and are invited to display their works in front of thousands of craft buyers during a special exhibit at the Buyers Market of American Craft.
WINNERS RECEIVE:
A feature announcement in the spring issue of NICHE magazine, a trophy and winners' press materials. Winners will also continuously have their images used in promotional materials and press packets throughout the year.
Finalists are invited to display their work in the NICHE Awards exhibit at the Buyers Market of American Craft, January 18-21, 2014, in Philadelphia . Winners will be announced at a special ceremony held during the Buyers Market and featured in the Spring 2014 issue of NICHE magazine.
