Machine Marks?

I am having a problem with machine marks on my projects. Like today for instance, I made a little sign for my neighbor, "The Browns" is all it said. But, around each letter there was a ridge that outlined the letter. I tried adjusting the stepover, and it still did the same thing.

I have laser leveled my gantry, bed and Z truck. Could the router itself not be mounted level? I am at a loss as to what is going on.

I am attaching a picture, but it really hard to see. If you look closely you can see the outline

not an expert and just guessing that you are using a pocketing toolpath... I have experienced a similr issue when pocketing colorcore and simply changing the outline toolpath from last to first fixed the issue. also if you are using lager bit for a clearout path the zero being off even the tiniest bit will produce a similar result

A good trick David is to use a texture in the bottom of the pocket. This could add 45 minutes to the job but it cerrainly makes life easier as there is then zero sanding.
