I saw a picture of a maze pattern cut on a round dowel and enclosed in a glass/plastic round cover and you turn it to run the ball thru the maze. I had meant to go back and read the article where i saw it but couldn't find it. It looked like it might have been something made by shopbot for a camp and wondered if that was a free file and where i could get it? Also the sizes and where i could get the glass/plastic case?

Pretty sure it was in the Legacy newsletter a few months back Jack.

Hi Bob,
Actually i had asked about them before because i saw these video's:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwZInzOzOUM
with the assembly video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_NVrU54NrE

but couldn't find any further info about them. It sounded like the poster TJ Christensen was going to do a write up but he probably got busy and he put it on the back burner.:(

TJ was cutting them at Mcgrews camp on a shopbot desktop earlier this year so I would check with him.

If I wanted to make these mazes, the really fun part would be learning how to draw them. It shouldn't be too hard to study what you see in the video and draw something similar, then wrap it. Set up your file to whatever diameter tube you can get.

Here is a quick one I did just now. I think the bottom line is the wrap. Maybe I will make a quick video to show how to do this.

The maze its self could be a little better but you get the point. I think you could even get creative and drill through  in a place or two to make it harder.

I think what i was equally interested in was info on the size dowel used, the size ball bearing, the size tubing and caps and sources.

you actually could make an infinite variety of mazes.
