I need to replace the bearings in my pc router and i have a local bearing supply house, does anyone know the bearing #'s or the size ID OD thickness? I would like to have the bearings on hand before i disassemble the router, also has anyone checked to see if ceramic bearings are available?
thanks----shawn

Shawn, There has been much discussion on this board relative to bearing replacement and different types to use. Use the search function, it should return plenty of information. I ended up just getting the kit from Shopbot. It was not too difficult to replace them. You will however need an air impact wrench to remove the bottom bearing retainer nut. Try as I might I just could not get it free without the air tool.

Check this thread (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/messages/26/3961.html).

I believe that if you can hold the armature in some fashion without damaging it, you could just apply mild heat from a propane torch to soften the locking compound at the collet shank nut (chuck) so it is easier to turn.
