This is a kickstarter campaign and at first blush you might think how would/could this apply to a shopbot?

My first flash of an idea was, lets say you have a landscape you wanted a 3D picture of. You could input the photograph and the x,y,and z movements of the carriage would "paint" the photograph in 3d (maybe)?
Anyway it looked interesting.:eek:
