I'm just getting my 2007 prs put back together after moving from Mich. to Colorado. Before I moved one of the x motors was dropping out during a program run, I switched the wires on the drivers and the other motor dropped out. Based on that I bought a new 202 drive and want to install it.

My problem is I'm not sure how to install it. The controler is the old style, in a computer box not mounted on the machine like the newer machines. It looks like the drive screws to the pins on the board. If this is so it looks like I'll have to remove all the drives to get to the screws on the top drive. Which is where the bad one is.

Does this sound right?

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

The drivers will slide out of the terminal blocks parallel to the board, so if you are looking at the printed side of the driver you would push it away from you to slide it out of the terminal blocks. This almost always works for the 202 drivers, but the 203 drivers usually require that all the screws be loosened on the terminal blocks. In any case, if the driver isn't coming out easily do not force it as you can break the pins off the board.
