I have been making crudities all evening. I need around 100 for the show Saturday. By the way for the shop botters in Kentucky, WVA. Virginia and Tenn. That is just a fancy word for Hillbilly chop sticks, that you use to pick up Your hors d'oeuvres with and place on your plate. , (cheese, sausage, finger food. )

I wanted to call them Hillbilly chop sticks, Tina wanted to call them Crudities,, well I have some customers that call them Crudities and some that call them Hillbilly chop sticks, and I have two listings in my catalog, looking at the sales both have sold almost the same amount. However Hillbilly chop sticks is a head by 3.....
was going to add some hummer in on this post, but not sure if it would have been appropriate ( no it is not what you pick up at porkies bar with your Pickup truck or no it is not the heifer that your boy friend used to date.) what do you think...lol

Crudities are very easy to make.. I use scrap .25 wood that is left over from other projects and scrap .25 walnut...by spliting the wood part way and removing one side they become spring loaded when you form the hinge.

I guess for those who are not from the mountains I had better explain what a Heifer is. It does not refer to a cow or that a lady is large. It is a polite way mountain women refer to a lose woman. The Girl that dated the other girls boy friend first could be a virgin wearing a chesty belt and she would still be referred to as a heifer. All previous girl friends are that to the current girl friend or wife.

Eugene,
I am having a hard time envisioning what you are describing...Are you talking about a fancy word for "tongs"?
Why not call them "Rednedk Forks":D

Jack they are small tongs made of wood and use a brass nail for the hinge. They become spring loaded when opened. will take a picture latter.

Eugene, And I thought heifers had four legs. Boy has the world changed since being in veterinary school, 60 years ago.
