Just ordered a new desktop unit. I already have a BT-48 and I have a nice (used to be ) thick plywood top on it. Drywall screws and a bunch of corner pieces that I cut out work pretty well for just about everything I do.

The desktop has this nifty aluminum channel stuff on it. What kind of clamping schemes are you folks using? I bought the desktop because I want to work in a restricted space, and so a vacuum system is out of the question.

Good question, but vacuum not out of the question. Plan on doing a few like Max G. uses for his mandolins and vac pump twice his size we got very quiet and about football sized.http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17144 be very interested to see other people's pic's, still screwing down and the blush is off the rose.

When I was clamping on a customer's desktop, I mounted a plywood frame that accepted different customer templates and used round stock that had a threaded hole across the dia. The dia was just slightly smaller than the channels (I think probably 1/4") and they worked great (you can buy them at any hardware store in the specialty stock for knockdown furnature)

Thanks
