I need to sand these round boxes. I have an oscilating sander, i have a hand belt sander. The problem is i'm sanding a round surface with a opposite round oscilation and i'm not going to get a even rounded surface....

Nevermind:eek: it just popped in my head. I can mount them in my lathe and spin them and sand them that way. I have some bowl waxes i may try on these.

I was going to do some carving on the sides but the wavy grain pattern looks so nice i think it would be a shame to cover that. I will make a carved lid though

Jack I use a spindle sander attached to my drill press. this does both inside and out.

Came out nice Jack. I like the one with the knot hole, but the taller one close second(did you get the big lines on your rule mixed up with the little ones? or transpose a number like I do:)?

There was a slight difference and what happened is, i added an additional piece of mdf to the deck because it was just a hair too low and at the last cut of the cutout profile it kept crapping out on me.
Additionally i had a .1 profile cut around the lid because the top surface was not exactly even.
