Several years ago one of my drivers went out (The X axis) on my Buddy. This was a Gecko 203V, generally known for being bullet proof. the machine was out of warranty. I called Shopbot and bought a new one. Since then, no more problems.
The other day, I contacted Gecko Drive about sending the bad one back to them for analysis and possible repair so I would have a spare. They were good to answer my inquiry and gave me a return number. The idea was that they would figure the cost of repair and we would go from there.
This morning I got an e-mail from them with an invoice the showed $0.00 cost and a brand new replacement with an apologetic note that the main board was bad and this was their "sometimes stuff happens" policy to make a bad driver good.
I did not expect this. This machine is over 5 yrs. old and thought I would just keep a spare. I believe they went out of their way to stand behind their product for the sake of doing the right thing. Also, it is in the mail right now at their expense.
I just thought I would pass along this bit of good news...joe

Gecko drives is one of the best companies out there. I have sent back drives that were 5 or so years old and told them it was my fault they blew and they fix our replace it for nothing. When you call them for support you talk to the owner.

It would be nice if more companies stood behind their product!
