My little prox sensors (the L bracket and bolt) have come loose long ago from the original sticky pads that came with the bot and i have tried several types of duct tape, foil tape, and some double sided **** i had here and wondered if anyone had a recommendation of a good brand of double sided tape (something i could buy at lowes or local) ?

3M VHB (Very High Bond) tape.

i second the 3M VHB, you should be able to get a small section of it from your local sign shop or body shop. It is what holds the trim to your car.

VHB = Very High Bond

Keep in mind that it must be clamped for a while for it to completely set & get full holding strength. It is not cheap...but what good ever is?

PRT prox targets had VHB from the factory - with optional #8 or #10 screws - that were supposed to be drilled and screwed up to prevent them from getting knocked off...which isn't hard to do.

I also need to hold down some musical movements in the bottom of some music boxes i'm making. Do you think the hot glue would bond the metal movement to the bottom of the wood box adequately?

I have a hot glue gun i haven't used in a long time I'll try....

BTW...how many of you have been searching for a specific tool in your drawers and come across tools you forgot you owned?:eek:
Or went out and bought the same tool only to find your original one later on?:eek:
Not that it has ever happened to me....:rolleyes:
