I'm running controller ver. 3.6.44 and today when I went to resurface my table top I noticed that the Surfacing command TU on the menu system was not working. I tried a variety of options to see if I could get it to work as well as reinstalling the software, but nothing would cause the TU command to work. Has anyone had this happen and what is the fix. Do not want to move to latest version of the controller software at this time so would like to get the version I'm working with functioning probably.

Al,

A couple of things to check... Is the 'Table_Surfacer.exe' file in the 'C:\Program Files (x86)\ShopBot\Virtual Tools\Surfacer' folder and is the line 'VT = Table S[&u]rfacer, Virtual Tools\Surfacer\Table_Surfacer.exe, 0, 0' present in the 'VirtualTools.ini' file (you can open that file in Notepad)? Make sure that line doesn't have a ' in front of it also.

as a substitute you could just create a pocket toolpath to the depth desired and the size of your table in your favorite program which basically all that is anyway.

Did complete surfacing my table by using Aspire to to create a cutting file. I would still like to find out why the TU command will not work. As I mentioned I reinstalled the software after deleting all existing files related to the contoller software, expecting a fresh install would insure all proper configuration settings were in place. However as it turns out the TU command still would not work. However if I do a fresh install of the previous version of the controller software TU works in that version but not if I upgrade to 3.6.44. So I'm quite puzzled by this.

I did verify that those settings are in place. If I try and run surfacer.exe I get an initialization error and the application fails. Not sure if this is a Windows error or that the actual surfacer.exe is corrupt file.
