Serial Port

Hello Everyone , I was talking to a computer store today and i was wondering if the bot can be hooked up with a Serial Port. The teck said he had hooked up a lot of cnc machines using a serial port an it did not matter how long the wire was leading from the machine to the computer when using the serial Port. He said as long as it started from Serial and ended with Serial. I have upgraded my PRT with the new RPK Control Box. I do not see that kind of port in it. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

No. Serial is not fast enough for the pulse stream sent out from the computer to your RBK box. If you were running SB2.39 in DOS, then I would say no problem - those tools ran on serial. But the newer tools require faster COM speeds via USB.
