Looks great!

I'm sure many will want to know what software you used & what bit to cut, plus what material.

I cut it into .25" corian. Used a .125 onsrud 77-102 for roughing. Used a onsrud .020" 30 deg. 37-24 for finish. Followed vectric's "machining lithophanes" tutorial for the settings in photo v carve. I used a smaller bit that the tutorial, cause the area was smaller.

I think there cool, but it took over three hours to cut. I think it would be hard to turn a profit on them.

3 hours is not bad, mine usually take longer then that.
The idea with these 3d carvings is you turn it on and go do something else.

AT church for Mother's day, I was thinking of doing either profiles of brothers and sisters - or lithograms for kids to give their parents.... and then the amount of machine time became a reality with hundreds of hours to be socked up .

Not to over shadow yours Kevin, That looks so good I finally dove in and gave it a try. Here is my first. Solid surface material that measures 1/4"x10"x6". Both rough and finished with a 1/8 straight Bosch ball nose bit. (that's what I had) Did the same thing, just went with what was said in the videos.

I have a couple of tapered ballnose bits. I used one for the rough pass. I didn't know you could use the same bit in the finish and it look that good. That is an awesome picture.

For all you guys doing a roughing pass in 1/4 inch corian
Save time. I use a 1/16 dia carbide ball end mill with 1/4 flute lenght. .003 to .005 Stepover. No roughing pass. Set you raster to 45 deg. The first cut is a plunge and after that all cuts are at your stepover value. You get great detail with the small cutter. I've done hundreds of lithos this way and never broken a cutter yet :D
