I inset this carving into a pine interior door. I'm pleased with it. I am thinking on how I should finish it

Tung Oil or conversion varnish.

Kevin, dewaxed shellac would be nice as it would stop the pine yellowing with time. Keep up the nice work! Very satisfying isnt it??

I will read up on it. There are sections in the book I have been reading about different finishes. It is very satisfying to make something like this, specially when it's for your home. If I do another, I will glue a blank hardwood plug into the door and then just machine the model into the door.

Kevin, Is that dished or domed(I think the '70's caught up with me)? Where did you buy the art? Always liked that. Didn't see what machine you've got. VERY nice work-You've been busy.

I like the idea since I have solid pine door myself. I am still working on my first cup so I could of overlooked this. But what type of wood is the carving?

It's vectorart3d. Com image number 57173. There are three styles, this is style b, or dished. If you use the word Adam in the 3d model search it will come up. I cut it from piece of scrap cherry.
