Spring mount motors

I have new motors to swap out on my PRS machine. I was wondering about making up new mounting hardware so I can have the motors and pinions spring loaded vs. the solid mount the OEM machine has. Just wondering if anybody has done this to their PRS or thoughts? Not sure if the work would be justified vs. just doing my monthly maintenance check on the pinions and adjust for wear when needed to keep things tight and reduce backlash???

The spring system on the older machine was abandoned for the PRS as the mass and balance of the gantry is different so it doesn't work. You'll be losing steps like crazy if you try that.
