View Full Version : Source for glass adhesive sheets?
Adhering 36" diameter x .375 thick glass top to ~12" dia pedestal top. Glazier recommends Norton double sided tape, but no source for a larger sheet - would like to adhere to top of post with a single sheet of material, vs riddling with strips of adhesive tape.
Bottom of glass is sandblasted for etched look - any wet adhesives such as silicone will foil the effect.
Thanks!

That may become difficult. I suspect, even the adhesive sheet will make the sandblasted surface partly transparent and shine through once the adhesive conforms. Did you try it with a strip if that works at all?

You may want to consider "mounting tape" such as that used by vinyl cutters/installers. It is clear, very aggressive and thin. It is available 24"+. I get mine from HarborSales.net
Aside from this, you start getting into 3M products. It may be worth a call to 3M or Norton to talk to an application engineer to see what they offer in wide format tapes. I remember using 3M Isotac in 24"+ widths when I worked at a sign company years ago, but I cannot seem to find Isotac wider than 3" via Google search. Brace yourself for pricing...It's gonna hurt.

Gene,
Will have a brushed aluminum surface it adheres to, so worst -case, it will show a nice circle of that as an accent.
I've completed some research and found a 3M 3 layer clear product called 9474LE, which is two layers of the 300LSE laminated over a clear core, rendering it better suited to my application. 3M tech support says should be OK, but try a sample to be sure.;)
Based on the extensive use of masking products by others on the forum, I was hoping someone else may have already established an ideal product - still open to suggestions, otherwise I'll report my results.
