Apparently one of my kids deleted vector files for one of my projects. I have the cutfiles, but it was so long ago I am unsure if I cut it in melamine or ply. I did call support, and their is a way to possibly get a dxf from the cutfiles, using the probe fuctions under tools in the control software. I have an older version so I don't have that function. I don't want to update, as whenever I do I usually have days of downtime trying to get it configured correctly. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on how to retrieve? The original vector files are long gone, I tried that route to get them back, no go.

David…
SB3 has a feature under file/conversions/ It’s awkward and poorly documented BUT it works. You can convert your SBP files to DXF or whatever… You have to play with it to understand how it works.

Caution: What you get are files of the center of all router bit movement. This means all rapids and duplicates for every step down. You have to do a lot of rework to make it a useable file. Rework includes: removing duplicate paths from on top of each other, removing jogs and offsetting from centerline tool paths to desired lines
Good luck!

If your version doesn't have this feature, down load a newer version to a design computer...

Another option is to backplot it in an old piece of software that used to come with SB's called VectorCam. The advantage with this is that it shows the whole toolpath, all depths and rapids. You would still have to offset the radius of the cutter, but it's easier to delete all the extraneous vectors. If you want, I can back plot it for you.
