I generally don't use dust collection that much (use breathing, eye, and ear protection) but the shop gets dusty.
The reason i do that is because i like to see what the bit is cutting so i can catch a problem before it happens.

I have seen in the past guys who have taken the bottom of a 2 liter pepsi bottle and attached it to their routers to direct the airflow around and up the side of the router instead of blowing down and disbursing the sawdust.
I can't see where i would attach it on my porter cable router so if anyone has any pictures or info i'd appreciate it.

Also i'm thinking about fashioning a U shaped dust shoe with the vavumn coming from the bottom of the U and making some type of see thru front and thought someone may have done something like that?

I used a deli container on my Porter Cable. In addition to the hole for the collet coupling I cut holes for the 3 screw that pass through the deli container into the unit.

I used the container even though it was past it's expiration date with no problems.

Thanks Randall. I'll have to look under my router again to find the holes and see if i have the right screws to hold it up.
