Trying to import a downloaded stl file into Aspire. Anyone have a link, either to what works, or one to why it won't? I tried to upload it here, but it exceeds file size. Would be happy to share it with anyone if they want to try. Thanks, Marc

You can send it to me & I will see if I can open it. Have you tried opening it in another 3D program?

You have to start a new project then use "file/import/import component/3d model", the usual "import vectors from file" or drag & drop won't work.
Many stl files are huge, make sure to scale it down to work area size before you hit Ok.

Thank you Gentlemen,
The file was drawn so large that I got a "failed to load" error message. Another member alerted me to this(Thanks Ed!). I then opened a new file, set the bed size to a crazy number, and then was able to import. Once the file was imported, I resized my material, as well as the model, and all was well.

This is the place i got the file from, lots of good stuff. Thanks, Marc

How large (in MB) was the STL you were importing?
