We just made a hold down jig for smaller parts and I have noticed one small problem.
If the part is not a true flat it will lift (very little) in the (0,0) point of the jig.

What to do?

I don't have pix but on my jigs I always put just a little angle to the edge that will be holding down the part. That way when force is apllied to hold the part there is some down force applied (just a little). Russ

If you can't get one of your hold downs in the 0,0 corner, you'll need to wedge/cam clamp the blank into the corner. You could adhere some sand paper or a strip of old sanding belt onto the faces of the corner and along with a cam clamp, that would give pretty good grip. If its a blank that you're cutting a profile shape from, you can put a screw in the waste area of the corner. Here's a shot of my old standby. Table is long since gone, but the clamp is still going.

These cam clamps would work good with your jig.

I agree on Scott W's clamp Bob. I've got that pic saved from early days here. I'm surprised nobody mentioned ShopFox clamps, as wouldn't the straight side pressure help Kyles problem(and low profile keep the kids from ramming them)?
Also thinking maybe a couple of Adrian's nylon bolts and fender washers near 0,0 in brass inserts(maybe in circular shallow pocket to adjust for thinner stock) could "wedge" the stock down in the corner? They'd be easy enough to take off when not needed.http://www.amazon.com/Shop-Fox-D3347-Cam-Clamp/dp/B00012XE0A

This was my fix after reading all the help.

Thanks again for the help.

I think I will be making some of those cams as well.
