This year's North Carolina 2-Day Camp ShopBot will be Friday, May 2 & Saturday, May 3 at Larry high's shop in Chapel Hill, NC. Our host Larry High has a great shop with a 96" PRT with spindle.

Friday features 'A Day in the Shop' with Randy Johnson from ShopBot, which will include cutting some files, machine maintenance and other techniques. Attendees may bring sample material and cutting files with them. We will try to tackle as many questions as possible. Saturday is the regular 'Camp ShopBot' format with topic-based presentations, Q&As, and the infamous Show and Tell Session. The new Handibot will also be demoed. Lunch is included both days.

As a side note, TJ is offering his 'Basic Training' at ShopBot headquarters in Durham on that Thursday and Friday.

You can participate in the Camp by sharing one of your projects during the Show and Tell session. Or if you create huge sculptures or commissions for clients, bring photos to share. The Show and Tell session is a great way to learn from each other.

Please register for this camp using our Google Form. This ensures that we have enough chairs and food for everyone and also lets you tell us which topics most interest you, from boatbuilding to machine maintenance to cutting plastics.

So far we have about 30 people registered. Most are attending both days. We are still a month away so should see some more signups before May. Thanks for asking.

Larry and Shopbot,

Thank you, very very much for hosting the camp today. It was very well organized, informative, open and friendly. I truly appreciate all the hard work and effort in setting up this event. I know that I learned a lot and I believe that others also did. It was a great success. I look forward to another camp in the Michigan area soon.

All,

Can anyone please post the two Amana bit router bit part numbers (1/8 In round over with 3/8 bearings, and straight both with 1/4 shanks) which were discussed during today's camp? I would love to order them.

Thanks,
