Woodcraft have just releaesed these in Zebra, dark walnut and bamboo. $74 to $104. Now theres a use for all those offcuts!

I worked with some guys going to buy a shopbot to cut them and another customer that wanted me to cut them. the joigs and setup and time is pretty intense to make them.

Those are cool I would love to see how they fixture them.
made a few...as was said, the fixture/setup time costly...unless you are willing to devote your shop/machine exclusive to this product...forget it

Not to worry Jack, Not my cup of tea.... I like product that I can mass produce. Not a item that would take a hour just to put together and finish...
On the other hand I am designing some new items that will be easy to mass produce with the cnc.

They sure do take a lot of dedicated jigs and finicky setup. The bot sure does help.
It surprises me this design made it to production. Solid bamboo, majority long grain. Not exactly the highest cross grain strength. Long term durability and strength is a common problem in the wood eyewear world. A similar design was dropped during our first round of prototyping.

We did these last year for an exhibit. We also cut the crayfish in the background as well.
