I've been running latest controller software 3.8.12 for a month now on an older Dell computer running XP. So far no issues. I decided to upgrade the controller computer to a newer model HP, 2gig of ram, dual processor, 6 - USB2 ports running Windows 7, bare bones installation. The controller software loaded OK and everything seemed to be functioning, but slower than the older computer.
I started checking things and noticed that the ShopBot controller was showing up as connected to a USB1 connection instead of a USB2. Tried the USB cable on all the ports and got the same result. Yet if I plugged a known USB2 device into the same ports it registered properly as a USB2 connection.
I then plugged a USB2 hub into one of the ports and connected the Shopbot to one of its ports and the Shopbot registered as USB2 device. I confirmed this with the diagnostics tool and the packet transfer rates were lower. My understanding with version 3.8.12 is you should no longer need to use a USB hub when connecting to the controller, so I'm puzzled what is going on here. Does anyone have any incites into this issue.
